  • Hickory Art Museum 243 3rd Ave NE Hickory United States (map)

Thursdays: April 20, 26, May 4, & 11
$105; $80 Members

One of the simplest forms of intaglio printmaking is drypoint, which allows for direct imaging and uniquely personal mark-making. This course is designed for beginners looking to explore a new technique and those experienced in drypoint printmaking looking to improve their craft.  The workshop will be tailored to the interests and skill levels of each participant and encourages individual expression and experimentation.

Topics will include controlled and expressive mark making, multi-color prints, chine collie, inking techniques, editioning, and press use.  All levels are welcome.

Thomas Thielemann’s work combines a variety of disciplines including Printmaking, Graphic Arts, Collage, and Painting.  He is the AFA Visual Arts Director at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.  See more of Thomas’ work at www.moonheadstudio.com.  Thomas will be joined by his friend and collaborator Lindsay Barrick.
