Maximum Capacity Collection Storage & Art Receiving/Preparation Area

The current Education Wing will be up-fitted as the museum’s new State-of-the-Art Collection Storage and Artwork Receiving Area, including an addition to the back of the museum that will allow for the private, safe, and controlled receipt of artwork. We will gain maximum capacity, efficiency, and access to the museum’s existing Collection Storage/Art Preparation footprint and add a State-of-the-art storage system. From the arrival of crates to the installation of art in the galleries or storage, we will ensure environmental and physical stability allowing access to exhibitions previously beyond our reach.

Larger, Technologically Advanced Education Wing

Business Office, New Board Room, & Catering Kitchen

The second floor becomes the new Education Wing with technologically advanced classrooms to accommodate additional students with four classrooms in direct connection to the galleries.

This Education Wing will support 21st-century learning with connectivity to the galleries and allow for an increased number of students to visit and explore our museum safely by moving the classrooms to the second floor. This move will mitigate potential accessibility issues and control access to the Education Wing.

The third floor becomes the team’s office area complete with collaborative spaces and its own Boardroom, with immediate access to the elevator and a new catering kitchen for receptions and rentals. The mezzanine gallery will extend along all exterior walls, creating the additional exhibition space the museum needs to display more works from the permanent Collection. We will create a larger Third Floor Gallery space by completing the exterior wall mezzanine. This project will update the museum’s office and work spaces to support collaboration and growth of staff and create efficiencies for the completion of work.
