We do not charge a general admission fee to visit Hickory Museum of Art. However, our suggested donation per person is $5. Actual operating cost per visit is $12 per person. Please consider helping cover the cost of those who are unable to give. Along with cash, donations may also be made by debit or credit card in shopHMA.

Tours are available for groups of 15 or more. Tours must be arranged in advance. Tour Only: $3 per person or Tour + Art Activity: $5 per person. For more information on group tours and school field trip opportunities, e-mail or call HMA Educator Ginny Zellmer at 828-327-8576 ext. 207.

visitors with disabilities

The front entrance parking lot (3rd Ave NE side) has two accessible parking spaces, and two ramps leading to the front door. The back entrance is accessible with additional parking spaces and ramps, but visitors with mobility disabilities will need to use the wheelchair lift to access the art museum. With advance notice, our educators can adapt group tours to accommodate persons with disabilities. Please call us at 828-327-8576.

Do I have to be a member to visit Hickory Museum of Art?

Everyone is welcome to visit Hickory Museum of Art, whether you are a member of the museum or not. The museum is open to everyone, although members receive invitations to special events and discounts on classes and camps.

I am an artist; how can I have an exhibition at Hickory Museum of Art?

If you are looking to exhibit your art at HMA, please email photographs of your work, artist statement and credentials to kanthony@hickoryart.org.

Why is there no admission fee?

Hickory Museum of Art is very fortunate to have a strong membership and many community and corporate sponsors that help keep the admission free for visitors. However, we continue to ask for support, so we suggest donations be made to the museum when you visit.

Do you rent out the Hickory Museum of Art for private events?
