The Fourth Foothills Folk Art Festival (FFAF) is now accepting artist applications for the juried event that will take place in Downtown Newton on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. This award-winning festival is a partnership between Downtown Newton Development Association (DNDA) and Hickory Museum of Art (HMA). Last year’s festival was visited by over 15,000 people of all ages!
FFAF is a folk-art themed show; and all applicants go through the jurying process, regardless of whether they have participated in previous years. The FFAF Artist Committee is looking for artwork that is intensely influenced by and displaying the spirit of folk, visionary, and outsider art.
To be considered, artists must submit an application form that may be downloaded from the festival website here. The application must be accompanied by three to five (preferably high-resolution digital) pictures of individual pieces of the type of art that the artist plans to sell at the festival. These images will be used to select the artists for the festival and to promote the festival. Please note that no application will be juried, meaning considered, without pictures.
A registration fee must accompany the application, but the fee will be returned if the artist is not selected for the festival. The early registration fee is $50 before June 1, 2019, and $75 after that until September 1 when applications close.
