As befits an event that was inspired by Blow Up, the current major exhibit at HMA, it started with bouncy houses at the Summer BlowOUT event on August 18. The day also included petting zoos for animals and musical instruments, face painting, huge magical soap bubbles, a visit from a Hickory fire department truck and firemen, music and food, And almost all of it was free.
Inside the museum, Jon Carfagno, HMA's Executive Director, gave hourly tours, telling stories about the exhibits and providing background.
Debbie Reed, HMA's Communications & Design Manager, documented sweet outdoor moments throughout the day.
And a good time was had by all.
